Standard Chartered Appoints President and CEO of
The Standard Chartered Private Bank, Americas

The Standard Chartered Private Bank announced today the appointment of John Leto as President and CEO, The Standard Chartered Private Bank, Americas. John is based in Miami and is responsible for leading the business development, strategy implementation and growth of Standard Chartered’s Private Banking business in the Americas. John reports to David Stileman, CEO Americas and to Marianne Hay, Head of Private Banking, Europe, Americas and MENA.
“We are excited to welcome someone with John’s background and experience to our senior management team. His leadership will be critical in driving the continued growth of our private banking business in the Americas”, said Marianne Hay.
John is a strategic wealth management executive with Fortune 50 as well as start-up experience. An expert in organizational development and sales effectiveness, he has led initiatives focused on growing and transforming wealth management businesses, as well as structuring organizations to optimize the effectiveness of human capital and sales management.
Before joining Standard Chartered, John was a partner at a start–up private bank, Alpha Capital Financial. Prior to this, John held several senior management roles at Citigroup. He was Head of Citi Private Bank’s New York office, and also served as The Citigroup Private Bank’s Chief Administrative Officer, with responsibility for Latin America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and the US.
John holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Organizational Psychology, with distinction from Hofstra University, a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology from Hofstra University, a Master of Science in Management from NYU-Poly (NYU’s School of Engineering) and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from New York Institute of Technology.
